RGB-UV Spectrum

The perfect mix of RGB 3-in-1 and UVA power leds to satisfy the most demanding Pro Aquascapers. UVA brings an interesting colour depth and dimension and is also said to be beneficial for plants and fish.

While the addition of UV is particularly sought after for aquascaping and for fish tanning, all planted aquariums benefit from and look great under this spectrum. The effects of UV light on plants and fish is a highly investigated topic with research spanning decades.

All channels on at the same intensity is the best way to show off this spectrum, gives perfect colour with stunning clarity and colour depth providing scapers an unrivalled competition level spectrum.

The UV power leds are locked into the RED channel, it makes sense to do this because RED channel on high is a no brainer for fresh water tanks and feature leds that need to come into play should therefore also be on this channel.

RGB-C Spectrum

The perfect mix of RGB 3-in-1 power leds and Crimson Fluoresce power leds to give unrivalled colour pop, especially reds but great colour pop on Greens and Blues too.

This spectrum delivers vibrant, crisp and natural lighting with awesome colour rendition and shimmer.

WRGB Spectrum

An old time favourite, the perfect mix of RGB 3-in-1 power leds and Cool White leds for that classic RGBW look that has white leds in the mix.

Like the other two spectrums, it delivers vibrant, crisp and natural lighting with awesome colour rendition and shimmer.

All channels on at the same intensity is the best way to show off this spectrum, gives a crisp and natural colour with stunning clarity and colour depth.

The White power leds are locked into the RED channel, it makes sense to do this because RED channel on high is a no brainer for fresh water tanks and feature leds that need to come into play should therefore also be on this channel.

Controller Options

Smart Controller (not suitable for use with wall timers)

The smart controller has a sophisticated full featured app (Android and iOS) that allows control of the brightness and colour and with daily set and forget automation using Bluetooth or Wifi connectivity and is also Google Assistant and Alexa aware for advanced automation routines and voice control.

Manual Controller (suitable for use with wall timers)

For those that don't like or need technology and just want a great light that can be turned on and off at the wall. A simple manual push button controller for On/Off, brightness and colour settings that remembers the last setting after power off and on.

No Controller (suitable for use with wall timers)

For those that just need a great light with the perfect spectrum that turns on full and off at the wall plug. Perfect for commercial plant growers and those that want zero technology.

Hood Mounting

Hood mounting requires a little diy because all hoods are different, each tube comes with a pair of universal mounting clips to help make this an easy job.

Rim Mounting

The adjustable bracket mounting kit makes it a simple task to rim mount any rectangular style MakeMyLed tubes.

The bracket will fit on rims up to 21mm wide and the adjustable L shaped support rod is 250mm x 140mm

Glasstop Mounting

The tubes are so light and compact they can be laid directly on glass lids.

Most of the heat on these lights is projected upwards and very little heat is projected down so the glass won't get too hot.

Anti Glare Rhombus Optic lenses

The MMLED Aurora HD series lights feature dual purpose Anti Glare Rhombus Optic lenses/reflectors for crisp, clear and vibrant light.

Whats In The Box

• 1 x MMLED Aurora HD2 Two set for 30,60,90,120,150 or 180cm length with 2 metre cables
• 2 x Aurora HD2 Smart or Manual controllers, or direct connection with no controllers if you prefer just on/off at the wall
• 1 x 24V power supply to connect to the controller. Comes with an AU/NZ IEC plug and cable. (For non AU/NZ customers, MMLED will supply an adaptor plug suitable for your country)
• Universal Mounting clips or Rim mounting brackets for each tube.

Beam Angle Choice

The beam angle affects how wide or narrow the light beam will be. A lower degree beam angle like 30 will have a narrower beam than 45.

Narrower beams produce higher intensity and PAR directly below the light but that intensity tapers off as you move out from the center.

Wider beams have a lower intensity and PAR directly below but the intensity does not taper off as quickly.

Choosing an appropriate beam angle for your tank dimensions and lighting needs is not an exact science but use this table as a general guideline.

PAR/PPFD for a Two Tube Set

NOTE: PAR is quoted for WRGB, will be a little lower for the RGB-UV and RGB-C Spectrums

This table shows the PAR (PPFD) readings at distances 30cm to 75cm for the various beam angles for a Two tube set.

Additional tubes will increase PAR by 77% if placed close to each other or will at a minimum keep the same PAR if spaced apart.

PPFD readings of 50 umol/m2/s or over at the substrate is considered adequate lighting to sustain plant growth.
