Note: This is a 24VDC Lamp, cannot be screwed into house voltage. It is the lamp only and requires a 24V DC power supply to operate.

This is a spare or replacement bulb only, does not come with a 24VDC power supply, dimmer or gooseneck.

Beam Angles

The beam angle refers to how narrow or wide the light beam will be.

A narrow beam angle like 15 will focus light to a smaller area and deliver higher PAR. A wide beam angle like 80 will spread light on a wider area and the PAR will be lower than 15 or 24.

The diagram shows the different beam angles and also explains that in the centre directly below the light you'll get 100% intensity, at the edge of the beam angle you'll get 50% and further away you'll get spill light at around 10%.

PPFD/PAR

Brightness is the measure of how bright lights are to the human eye, PPFD (Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) often referred to as PAR is the measure of how effective light is to the inhabitants under water and varies according to how deep the water is, decreasing PAR as the water gets deeper.

This is a high light system and is fully dimmable so you can run it at lower than full capacity if you don't need that much light.
